*INSOFE offers 4 tracks of specializations. Every student must mandatorily choose 2 tracks. Each track consists of 2 electives of 2 credits each.


 

Thesis

There is a tremendous demand in research labs for Engineers who can actually advance Data Science through cutting edge research. PG Certificate program’s thesis work prepares you for the most exceptional jobs with outstanding skills.

  • Students are grouped into a team of three members.
  • State of the art (SOTA) AI-ML research topics are identified (from the leading journals and or Kaggle) and are allocated to the team.
  • The students will undertake a review of the literature understand and replicate the code end-to-end with additional data variables.
  • The research mentors will be allocated from a pool (consisting of faculty from IIT-Ropar, CICE- Carleton University and INSOFE) to guide the teams.
  • Finally, the team has to document and present its research findings to a joint faculty panel for evaluation.
  • In all, around 160-180 hours spread over 3-5 months is set aside towards the end of the program.

Bootcamp and Mindcamp - Scaling and Deployment

Bootcamp is designed to prepare students for an AI-Product Engineer job. It gives hands-on exposure to how machine learning solutions can be developed and deployed in production using various tools.

Students spend 20 Hours in Live Lectures of Bootcamps and in addition, they also spend 60 Hours on Live Projects. Thus, students roughly spend 80 hours working on problems related to images and text. Students are also encouraged to build and improve their online presence on platforms such as StackOver Flow, Kaggle and GitHub.


Program Overview

Students build a couple of end to end applications using various tools and deploy solutions in the production environment. All end-to-end application development would include:

  • Developing Web Application Architecture
  • Complete Data Science Life Cycle Development
  • Productionizing a Machine Learning Solution

Hackathons

As a part of the PGP (Honours) in Data Science program, every student must participate in at least 2 Hackathons.

These Hackathons are carefully designed by INSOFE experts to test students’ learning and practical skills and to provide hands-on experience, foster critical thinking, teamwork skills, and time management.

  • INSOFE’s INEX is the pre-requisite for most of INSOFE programs. INEX tests participants knowledge of programming, quantitative and verbal reasoning. The maximum marks in INEX are 360. The minimum points for the PGP (Honours) in Data Science program is 60.
  • Graduate degree in any discipline (Grades will be considered for the admission)
  • Good communication skills

With a real-time verification of the student data, INSOFE believes in rewarding students who demonstrate exceptional merit performance during the program. Hence it is important for the students to get recognized by employers and the social community exhibiting their technical understanding of various Data Science techniques/algorithms gained in the program.

INSOFE holds the right to validate the badge and allocate them to the deserved candidates at the end of each module within the INSOFE’s Smart Education Applications platform. And these badges are only awarded based on the performance of the students in the Conceptual Understanding Tests (CUTe).

Each student gets 6 opportunities to showcase their technical prowess mastered within the program and gain up to INR 60,000.

  • The following refund policy is applicable to all program fees.
    • None of the fee paid are refundable including Application, Admission and Tuition Fee.
    • The fee paid is also non-transferable.
  • In all of the above cases involving course fee, the student can choose to postpone the admission to the next batch. In such a case, INSOFE reserves the right to postpone admission at the current fee structure at which the fee is paid or at the prevailing fee structure of the next batch. INSOFE's decision in such matters is final and not negotiable.

  • If a student, due to unavoidable circumstances is unable to commence with the cohort and requests for a deferral before the cohort starts, we provide the opportunity for the student to defer to another batch.
  • However, the student will be required to pay 50% of the total course fee amount (inclusive of taxes) before the deferral can be approved. Till this is completed, the student will be assumed to be continuing in the same cohort.
  • A student can request for deferral only once and from the batch start date of the initial batch, the student enrolled for.
  • The student has time till the launch date of the current cohort to make the payment of the 50% program fee, post which the deferral request will expire. Once the deferral window expires and the student now asks for a refund, the above-mentioned applicable refund policy will apply.
  • The fee applicable to the deferred student will be as per the prevailing fee for the batch student has opted to defer to (No additional deferral fee is required to be paid).

Deferral Policy: (Post Program Commencement)
  • If a student is facing severe issues in dedicating time to the course, we provide the opportunity for the student to defer to another batch.
  • A student can request for deferral only once and from the batch start date of the initial batch, the student enrolled for.
  • The student will be required to pay a deferral fee of​ INR. 25,000 + Taxes if any along with the differential program fees between the two cohorts.
  • The deferral request will be approved once the deferral fee is paid.
  • Till this is completed, the student will be assumed to be continuing in the same cohort.
  • The student has to raise the request from SCT portal​.
  • If the student completes the deferral payment, the student's login will be disabled, the student will leave the deferred cohort and the student will start learning on the new cohort from the point of the last assignment that was graded in the deferred cohort. All grades and progress until that point will be carried forward as it is to the new cohort. For clarification, the grades of the graded assignments will be carried forward, whether or not the student had submitted these grading during the initial stage.
  • The deferral can only be requested during the batch for which the student has enrolled is ongoing. Once the batch has completed, deferral requests shall not be entertained. For clarification, the batch completion here shall mean the "last grace deadline" as communicated.
